Aamnah Ejaz Husain

I am a U.S. trained and certified psychologist with over 12 years of clinical experience. Originally from Pakistan, I settled in the U.S. where I pursued post graduate training at the prestigious Teachers College, Columbia University. After receiving an M.A. and M.Ed. in Counseling Psychology, I began my practice at the Mount Sinai hospital New York, treating patients experiencing a combination of chemical dependency and severe mental disorders. Following my successful tenure at Mount Sinai, I expanded my practice globally and currently serve as an Allied Counsellor in Dubai.

 

Following this, I headed the Outpatient Services department at Walden House San Francisco, one of the oldest and largest providers of behavioural health services in California. 

 

Additionally, I am a certified Domestic Violence Counsellor in the state of California. My professional development continued with specialist training in Mindfulness Methodology, Emotionally Focused Couples Therapy, EMDR trauma focused therapy and projective psychological tests like the Rorscharch assessment. For the past 5 years I have been in private practice at a clinic in Dubai.

 

I am passionate about helping people discover themselves, their values, motivations, strengths and their own ability for problem solving. I believe in the resilience of human beings and am continually inspired by people’s ability to grow and change. My goal in treatment is to be your ally as you learn from your past and make important transformations in your present. I bring an attitude of genuine curiosity, empathy and non-judgment to the therapeutic relationship. Most importantly, I use a variety of evidence-based interventions and provide information based on clinical research to equip you for this journey.

 

I typically provide online and in person therapy sessions once a week, in English, Hindi and Urdu.
