Experience
I am an Integrative Child and Adolescent Psychotherapist and Counsellor, originally trained in the United Kingdom. With over 10 years of experience supporting children, young people and families across educational, therapeutic and community settings, I have worked in special educational needs (SEN) schools, private mental health clinics and multidisciplinary teams, working closely with Occupational Therapists, Speech and Language Therapists and other healthcare professionals.
My clinical work includes supporting children and adolescents with neurodevelopmental differences, anxiety, low mood, trauma, emotional and behavioural dysregulation, self-esteem and confidence difficulties, academic pressure, family challenges, life transitions, self-harm and suicidal ideation, and complex interpersonal dynamics.
I am passionate about helping children and young people feel genuinely seen, heard and understood. I strive to create a warm and supportive space where they can bring every part of themselves without fear of judgement, explore their experiences safely, and leave therapy feeling more confident, connected and capable of navigating life’s challenges.
At the heart of my work is the understanding that childhood and adolescence can be incredibly challenging. Young people are often navigating friendships, family dynamics, academic pressures, identity development and overwhelming emotions, sometimes without having the words, opportunity or support to fully express or understand what they are experiencing, and can feel misunderstood, overwhelmed or under pressure to cope alone.
I believe every child deserves at least one place where they feel genuinely seen, heard and emotionally safe. My role is to provide that space and relationship – a warm, supportive environment where young people can explore their thoughts, feelings and experiences, make sense of challenges, and develop a deeper understanding of themselves and their world. Working alongside them with curiosity and care, I aim to help young people recognise their strengths, build confidence and resilience, and create the foundations they need to flourish.
I work within an integrative, trauma-informed and neurobiologically-informed framework, drawing from attachment-based, psychodynamic, humanistic and cognitive behavioural approaches. I recognise the importance of emotional safety, co-regulation and attuned relationships in supporting growth and healing, and view the therapeutic relationship as central to the process of change.
As an integrative practitioner, I work in a child-centred way, tailoring therapy to the unique needs of each child or adolescent. Depending on the individual, sessions may incorporate play-based and creative approaches (including art, sand tray, storytelling and metaphor), alongside psychodynamic and cognitive behavioural techniques, mindfulness, emotional regulation strategies and psychoeducation.
For younger children, play and creativity often become the primary language of therapy. Just as adults often communicate through conversation, children frequently express their thoughts, feelings and experiences through play, stories, metaphor and imagination. By engaging with these forms of expression, therapy provides a safe and developmentally appropriate way for children to process emotions, build self-understanding and make sense of their experiences.
“Enter into children’s play and you will find the place where their minds, hearts and souls meet.”
– Virginia Axline
