Experience
I am a newly licensed Psychologist accredited by the CDA and currently practicing as an Assistant Psychologist under professional supervision at The Psychiatry and Therapy Centre. I support adults and young adults navigating anxiety, emotional distress, life transitions, identity and cultural concerns, grief, and relationship challenges.
I am an Indian, with roots in two distinct cultures of India, and I was born and raised in the UAE. Growing up between cultures as a “third culture kid,” gives me a deep understanding of expatriate life, identity development, cultural integration, and belonging. This allows me to work sensitively with individuals who feel caught between cultures or are navigating relocation, adjustment, and cross-cultural family dynamics.
In addition to my clinical training, I have engaged in the study of faith – informed perspective, which meaningfully informs my therapeutic lens when working with Muslim clients or those exploring spirituality. For clients who wish, I am able to thoughtfully integrate spiritual and Islamically informed perspectives into therapy, in a way that is respectful, balanced, and grounded both in psychological science and the client’s personal value system. My aim is always to meet you where you are, culturally, spiritually, and emotionally.
Areas of Expertise
I work with adults experiencing a range of concerns, including but not limited to:
- Anxiety and Emotional Distress
- Stress and Burnout
- Identity, Belonging, and Self-Worth
- Interpersonal and Family Dynamics
- Cultural and Religious Stressors
- Life Transitions and Adjustment Difficulties
- Grief and Loss
- Chronic Illness and Health-Related Stress
- Trauma-Informed Support
- Spiritual and Existential Concerns
- Boundary Setting and Emotional Regulation
Treatment Techniques
I work from an integrative, culturally sensitive, and meaning-centred framework, drawing on psychodynamic, attachment-based, existential, and spiritually integrated approaches. I believe therapy is grounded not only in clinical expertise, but in a genuine human connection.
Inspired by Carl Jung’s words — “Learn your theories as well as you can, but when you touch the miracle of the living soul, be just another human soul.”— I aim to meet each person beyond labels, honouring their unique history, culture, faith, and inner world.
