How I Work
While people may come to counseling/ therapy with specific issues, my focus is on the whole person and their context and my approach will vary and adapt to your particular set of difficulties.
My aim is to help patients gain insights into their difiiculties or distress, and enable them to find more appropriate ways of coping or bringing about changes in their thinking and behaviour.
This is done through exploring feelings, beliefs, thoughts and relevant events in a structured, non judgemental and safe way. It will also generally entail making explicit what has previously been left unspoken.
Together, during the first meeting, we will assess your needs and decide upon a course of sessions following principles that make sense to you.
I see teenagers, adults and couples, working both in French and English.
I adhere to a strict code of ethics, as laid out by the United Kingdom Council of Psychotherapy
- Confidentiality: Our work together and your identity will be kept strictly confidential.
- Boundaries: We will work with clearly defined time and space constraints.
- Commitment to best practice: I am committed to continued professional development, ongoing peer supervision and referrals to other professionals if/when needed.
